Hi, I’m getting a bit confused. I moved from AXA Insurance to AXA Health back in September 2021. A few months ago, I became aware that VOX is the representative group for AXA Health and note Unite, so I cancelled my Unite membership under the impression that it could not do anything for me as all the representatives in my op co and main office location (I’m on a location independent contract but the majority of my team work in Bournemouth) are VOX. I looked at joining VOX and can’t seem to do so. Can Unite still represent me or not?
Vox is a staff consultative body that represents all Health employees when consultation is required with the company. Unite can represent any employee (including Health employees) on an individual basis if they are members eg. if you have to attend a disciplinary hearing or have a grievance, Unite will allocate a full trained expert officer to assist and represent you, and you will have free legal assistance if needed from a dedicated employment law lawyer.
