AI in Work: Make your voice heard!

AI is changing work – and workers need a say in what happens next!

Artificial intelligence is developing at extraordinary speed. Technology companies are making huge investments in AI, while some of the same executives behind this expansion are warning that increasingly powerful AI could pose serious risks to society – and even potentially to humanity itself.

That contradiction raises an important question: If AI is powerful enough to transform our economy and our lives, who should have a say in how it is developed and used?

For Unite, the answer cannot simply be company bosses and shareholders.

Workers need a voice. We want to hear your voice! Please complete our survey HERE and let us know what you think! (the survey should take about five minutes)

AXA put 60 at risk in Risk…

AXA Insurance announced today that 60 employees in Risk, Conduct and Governance across various sites in the UK have been put at risk of redundancy following the merger of Commercial and Retail.

Collective consultation with Unite and other employee reps is still ongoing at this time.

Unlike other reorganisation exercises where individuals are pooled as part of a redundancy selection process, the company have advised that the roles in the new structure are fundamentally different from employees existing roles and do not meet the benchmark of suitable alternative employment. Consequently impacted employees are encouraged to apply for the new roles and will benefit from a trial period if successful.

If you are a member and believe that there is little difference between your existing role and one in the news structure and feel that you should be mapped across to it, please speak to your local union rep.
